Dr. Brené Brown is a renowned research professor and bestselling author, who has dedicated her career to studying courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy. With a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin, she went on to earn her Master's degree and Doctorate in Philosophy in Social Work from the University of Houston. At present, Dr. Brown holds the Huffington Foundation – Brené Brown Endowed Chair at the Graduate College of Social Work and is also a Visiting Professor of Management at The University of Texas at Austin Red McCombs School of Business.

In her career, Dr. Brown has authored five #1 New York Times bestsellers, namely, The Gifts of Imperfection, Daring Greatly, Rising Strong, Braving the Wilderness, and her latest book, Dare to Lead. Her TED talk, "The Power of Vulnerability," is one of the top five most viewed TED talks globally, with over 50 million views. Dr. Brown has been recognized as a thought leader in her field, having the distinction of being the first researcher to have a filmed lecture on Netflix. Her Call to Courage special debuted on the streaming service in April 2019.

In addition to her authorship and research, Dr. Brown hosts the Unlocking Us Podcast and the Dare to Lead Podcast. She has also been part of various television programs, including Oprah's Super Soul Sunday, and is a sought-after speaker, having presented to institutions such as TED, SXSW, and the United Nations.

Dr. Brown is a mother of two and lives in Houston, Texas, with her husband, Steve.
