Matthew Van Niekerk

Matthew Van Niekerk is a Canadian economist and businessman with a strong background in blockchain technologies and financial services.

He co-founded SettleMint with a vision to simplify blockchain adoption for enterprises, offering a low-code software solution that bridges the gap between concept and business realization.

Prior to SettleMint, Matthew worked at KBC and other organizations in various roles, including COO and Head of Platform Innovation, where he oversaw the technical aspects of online retail brokerage and crowdfunding platforms.

With an educational background in Economics from Western University and an MBA from Vlerick Business School, Matthew has also worked internationally in Tokyo and launched online retailing companies.

His previous roles span from strategy consulting to investment management, showcasing a diverse skill set and experience in the financial and technology sectors.
