JaKwame Carey is an accomplished educator who has excelled in the field of public education. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University, and a Master's of Education in Special Education from Virginia State University.

Carey has held several positions in public schools, including District Behavior Specialist at Halifax County Schools, Exceptional Children's Teacher at Nash County Public Schools, and various teaching positions at KIPP ENC Public Schools. Prior to his work in education, he gained experience as a Research Assistant at Kliewer Prevention Lab.
