Zhi Xiong Chong is a social entrepreneur and education advocate who aims to eradicate education inequity. He co-founded Chumbaka Cyberjaya, a social enterprise that offers technology enrichment programs to primary and secondary schools in Malaysia centered on open-sourced technology like Raspberry Pi, Python, Visual Programming, Arduino, and 3D printing, among others. He obtained his Bachelor's in Materials and Nuclear Engineering with First Class Honours at Imperial College London, and since then, he has been working towards empowering students, teachers, and local communities with vital life skills for this 21st century.
Zhi Xiong Chong believes that addressing education transformation should require the dedication, investment, and engagement of various stakeholders from the community through diverse types of public-private partnerships. His career started as a Teach for Malaysia Alumnus, where he worked as a fellow in 2014, followed by a London-Region Campus Leader Manager position at Teach For Malaysia. Prior to that, he completed an internship at IAEA and worked as a summer research student at Imperial College London.
