Bonnie Abaunza is a highly-respected human rights and social justice advocate who has dedicated her life to humanitarian work. With her extensive expertise, she has worked alongside filmmakers, artists, production companies, distributors, and NGOs to create and execute social impact campaigns for films and documentaries. Throughout her career, Bonnie's work has addressed many human rights and civil rights issues including child slavery, campus sexual assault, human trafficking, genocide, environmental justice, girls education, food safety, and animal rights.

Bonnie has been recognized and honored for her contributions to society. She has received commendations from the United States Congress and City of Los Angeles, and has received many notable awards such as the Lifetime Achievement Award from Unlikely Heroes, Women in Leadership Award from the City of West Hollywood, Global Champion Award from the International Medical Corps, KCET’s Local Hero/Hispanic Heritage Award, and the Catholics in Media Social Justice Award.

Bonnie's professional career path has been nothing but impressive. She has served as a Senior Non-Resident Fellow for the Enough Project, a Board member of the ACLU Foundation of Southern California, Chairman of the Advisory Board of TheCommunity.com’s Human Rights Campaign, Board member of Not On Our Watch, Board member of the Mgrublian Human Rights Center, and as a Consultant for the United Nations at International Labour Organization. Additionally, she was the Founding Director of Artists for Amnesty at Amnesty International USA and Vice President of Social Action and Advocacy at Participant Media.
