Taimoor Labib is a seasoned professional with 22 years of experience in direct private equity and investment banking.
Currently serving as a Founding Partner at Affirma Capital, where he holds the position of Head of Middle East & North Africa (MENA) Private Equity and Chairman of Africa Private Equity.
Affirma Capital, managing over $3.5 billion in assets, is an independent emerging market private equity firm established by the senior leadership of Standard Chartered Private Equity.
Before his role at Affirma Capital, Taimoor was the Head of Africa & Middle East Private Equity at Standard Chartered Private Equity (SCPE), overseeing a $1.5 billion direct investment portfolio across Africa and the Middle East.
During his tenure at SCPE, he played significant roles on the boards of various companies such as Al Jazeera Poultry, CEC, Eaton Towers, FINE Hygienic, GZI, Topaz Energy & Marine, Souq.com, and Union Bank of Nigeria.
Taimoor Labib also has experience as the Head of Global Private Equity Portfolio Management, where he managed the global portfolio across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
He initiated his career with Bear Stearns investment banking in New York and later worked at The Carlyle Group in Washington D.C.
Taimoor Labib holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Carnegie Mellon University.
