Nina Menezes is a driven and accomplished healthcare strategist with over 10 years of experience in marketing and management consulting. Holding a PhD in Medical Engineering and Medical Physics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a magna cum laude AB in Physics from Cornell University, Menezes has a formidable technical background that has enabled her to excel in her field.
Throughout her career, Menezes has demonstrated a passion for personalized medicine and innovative healthcare technologies that transform patient care. Her deep knowledge of the oncology, genomics, and diagnostics markets has made her a respected expert in the industry. Menezes is known for her structured thinking, ability to quickly master new product spaces and competitive landscapes, and high-impact communication style.
Menezes has extensive experience in new product development and commercialization, including brand identity, competitive positioning, communication strategies, customer segmentation, targeting strategies, market intelligence, and evidence generation studies. She has served as a strong internal and external product evangelist and cross-functional lead, developing customer-focused commercialization strategies that position businesses for sustained, profitable growth in new and expanded markets.
Menezes has held various leadership positions, including Vice President of Marketing at Inflammatix, Inc., Director of Marketing Innovation at Abbott, Associate Director of Healthcare Strategy at BD, and Senior Manager of Strategic Marketing, Diagnostic Systems, Oncology at BD. Her accomplishments include leading two due diligence teams, positioning a company for genomics market entry and long-term growth, resulting in two acquisitions, a new revenue stream, and the formation of a 200-member business unit. Her efforts also earned her company's highest recognition in technology innovation, the Wesley J. Howe Award.
Prior to her work in healthcare marketing, Menezes was a healthcare management consultant who worked across the pharma, biotech, medical device, and diagnostic industries. She unlocked market opportunities, developed business strategies, and designed clinical programs to expand drug portfolio indications, launch new products, and penetrate new global territories.
Menezes is also an active member of the MIT Enterprise Forum of New York and serves on the Board of Directors. She has interned at Seedling Enterprises LLC, a medical device incubator, and has completed the Undergraduate Research Fellowship at the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico. She also attended the Ontario Science Centre Science School and St. Joseph’s Morrow Park.
