Iain Pope is a versatile journalist with over 25 years of experience in the field. His vast experience spans across various roles, such as crime reporting, feature writing and columnist, photography, and news editing for award-winning print, online and TV outlets throughout Scotland and England.

Apart from journalism, Iain has extensive experience in public relations management as the account director of a multiple-award-winning PR agency. He was responsible for leading client relations and advising clients on media relations strategies, tactics, and crisis management. He has also conducted media relations training for colleagues at all levels.

In online news journalism, Iain has excelled as the senior editorial manager in industry-leading media houses such as Trinity Mirror, STV, and Scotsman Publications where he was responsible for coordinating live online news coverage for significant news events in recent years from the Scottish independence and Brexit referendums to the Glasgow bin lorry crash and the election of Donald Trump.

Iain has also worked in designing, testing, and training colleagues on new content management systems (CMS) for Trinity Mirror and STV. He has full working knowledge of multiple CMSs and software such as Escenic, Omniture, Comscore, Google Analytics, Chartbeat, among others.

Iain's professional and educational background includes a PGDP in journalism from the Scottish Centre for Journalism Studies, an MA (Hons) in History from Glasgow University, and attending Nicolson Institute.
