Dimitrios Korkinof, a Machine Learning expert with a PhD from Imperial College London, shares his passion for understanding the underlying methods of Artificial Intelligence. After reading the book "Pattern Recognition and Machine Learning" by Christopher Bishop, he pursued his dream of mastering this field, and now he is a Senior ML Engineer at Spotify.

With a GPA of 8.90/10.0, he graduated in the top 1% of the Electrical and Computer Engineering program at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Later, he received his Ph.D. in Machine Learning in Robotics from Imperial College London.

With four years of industrial experience, Dimitrios has worked for leading companies such as Kheiron Medical, Toyota Motor Europe, and AIG, and he has also been a Machine Learning Researcher at Cortexica.

He is a strong believer that the "best model" is like unicorns and big foot, which means that there is no such thing as a perfect model. Furthermore, he suggests that there is no such thing as "practical machine learning"; it is all theoretical unless we use the underlying methods without understanding them. He thinks that one's attitude and tenacity in the pursuit of knowledge count more than talent.
