Kumar is the founder and Managing Director of Bhavani Bio Organics Private Limited, which has pioneered a low-cost, simple, and effective method of extracting organic materials and recyclable products from waste, and reclaiming valuable land. Kumar's innovative techniques involve onsite treatment of waste using microbes, recovering organic matter as fine and coarse compost for agricultural use, and recycling plastic, rubber, wood, rags, coconut shells, stones, sand rubble, and other materials as fuel or for pavers.
