After volunteering in Kenya in 2012 I’ve continued my engagement with the local community through International Impact for Better Living, a 501(c)(3) registered nonprofit organization created by a friend and fellow volunteer, Jack Hinton. Established in 2012, IIBL finds outside sponsors to support boarding school education for current orphans living at Maddison House Orphanage outside of Nairobi. This both provides the kids with an education and frees up space at the orphanage to allow for more children. Currently, IIBL is raising $90,000 to build a boarding school of our own.As the Development Director I oversee proper appropriation of sponsor funds through the management of our PayPal account. I redesigned the internal database to better track payments and am actively involved in the fundraising process with current and new sponsors.
