Supported development of the strategic business plan while responsible for delivery of an optimized life of mine plan. Ensured that planning functions meet both Russian and Western reporting requirements. Acted as internal expert on underground technical issues providing advice and direction on complex or unusual issues as they arise. Prepared and organized closure cost estimation and supporting documentation for official reporting purposes.

Generation Gold Mine Engineer

Modeled OPEX costs to a feasibility study level for the Moroshka Prefeasibility Study.Created underground geotechnical and ventilation models for use as a long term mine planning tool.Initiated and facilitated the implementation of a weekly ground support plan to aid operations in identifying priority ground support jobs for the coming week.

Completed weekly ventilation surveys, walking the entirety of the underground mine workings measuring air flows and gas readings to then compile and balance the information using Vulcan to create a report for senior engineers.Surveyed both underground using a Leica totalstation, and on surface using Leica GPS equipment. Underground duties included drill ring markups, wall slash markups, tope pickups, and diamond drill bay markups. Surface duties included pickup of infrastructure and exploration drill holes.Provided underground survey coverage while mine technologist was off site.Supported the mine engineering group with design of drain holes, issuing of blast letters, and issuing and follow up of vent directives using Vulcan 3D modeling software.

Cameco Corporation

Supervised, as an assistant to the mill shift supervisor, daily operations of the mill in a 12 hour shift overseeing operators, production numbers, and day to day tasks as they arose.Reported the day’s metallurgical data meticulously and under tight time constraints to the metallurgy group, fellow Gibraltar employees, and management. Provided vacation coverage reporting for a full time metallurgist in his absence.Supported mill operators with metallurgy group to ensure the efficient and effective running of sulphide plant circuits.Provided accurate and timely product samples to operations/management using good practice.

Metallurgy Student

Surveyed open pit operations on a daily basis picking up production toes, drill holes, sumps, as well as staking drill holes, ore boundaries, and roads using Trimble GPS equipment. Provided vacation coverage surveying for a full time mine technologist in his absence.Mapped pit with Minesight software to illustrate changes to the pit and to aid in short term planning, as well as calculating amount of ore/waste mined in a given time period.Worked with aspects of delays improvement, short term planning, and drill and blast over the course of the summer.
