Garrett Close is an accomplished art director and creative strategist based in Portland, Oregon. With a background in branding, experiential, digital, editorial, and advertising, Close is a versatile and dynamic professional who brings a systems-thinking approach and a strong eye for detail to his work. Over the course of his career, he has worked with an impressive range of high-profile clients, including Nike, Yeezy, adidas, MTV, Samsung, Powerade, UberEats, and KFC.
Close began his career in 2014 as an associate strategist at Studio Riley, where he contributed to brand strategies for Sonos, Facebook, and Cheil Worldwide. Since then, he has held a variety of roles, including visual brand designer at Wieden+Kennedy and art director at Kamp Grizzly. He is also the co-founder and former art director of Cult Classic Magazine, a publication dedicated to underground creatives, and the founder and former director of Go Skate PDX, a non-profit organization that raises money for Portland skateparks through art and design.
