Judith Underwood is the CEO and co-founder of BLUE Institute Labs, an organization devoted to growing the regional BlueTech and wider Blue Economy through entrepreneurial programs and future ocean access offerings. She is focused on promoting healthy and secure oceans and water supplies, as well as advanced innovations, STEM education, and dedicated research. Underwood studied at the University of Massachusetts Boston, Bridgewater State University, New York University, Antioch University New England, and Northeastern University. She has worked as a social studies, environmental technology, and cleantech program coordinator, an adjunct professor, and as the founder and president of BLUE Institute, a board trustee and water and wastewater commissioner of the Harwich Affordable Housing Trust, and chief executive officer and founder of Brown to Green Solar, Inc. Underwood has also worked as a sales associate and a seminar participant at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She has been a finalist and winner at the EforAll Accelorator Summer 2016 Cohort and has participated in the Blue Institute Team Cleantech Open 2017 Cohort, the 2018 Boston Cohort at Emerge, and in consulting on women in science and tech transfer for the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and OWSD at Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP). Underwood is skilled in entrepreneurship, research, teaching, environmental technology, and clean energy.
