Dan Simmons is a highly skilled full-stack engineer, with a passion for solving complex problems related to distributed systems, scalability, machine learning, data mining, massive data sets, graph-based models, quantitative methods, and statistics. With an inclination towards open-source software, open standards, high-performance web applications, TCP/IP networking, and information security, Dan brings a diverse set of skills and expertise to the table. He has studied Computer Science and Finance at Georgia Institute of Technology, and has a Master's degree in Computational Data Analytics from the same institution. Before founding his own company, Simmons I/O, LLC, Dan served as the Co-Founder & CTO of Skroot and worked as a Software Engineer at Tapjoy and Lucena Research. He has also worked as an Undergraduate Researcher and TA at Georgia Tech, as well as a Software Engineering Intern at Cisco and a Cyber Cohort Intern at Booz Allen Hamilton. Dan's favorite languages include Golang, Javascript, Scala, Clojure, Haskell, Elixir, Rust, and Ruby. He also has experience with Cassandra, Kafka, Storm, Spark, Mesos, Docker, Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, MLlib, GraphX, and holds certifications in the field of Ethical Hacking and Security+.
