Jason Carney, a renowned poet, writer, and educator hailing from Dallas, Texas has made a notable mark in the literary world. He has competed and achieved the status of a Legend of the Slam on four occasions in the National Poetry Slam Finals and has performed on Russell Simmons' Def Poets on HBO for three seasons.

Jason is an alumnus of Wilkes University where he completed his Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) in Creative Writing with a focus on poetry and non-fiction where he won numerous awards including the Etruscan Prize, the Bergman Foundation Scholarship, and the Norris Church-Mailer Scholarship.

He has worked with several academic institutions as an adjunct professor of English Composition and American Literature including Tarrant County College, Brookhaven College, and Parker University. Additionally, he has worked as an Associate Faculty and Writer at Collin College and a PAP ENG I AND II teacher at Lakeview Centennial High School.

Jason is a Co-Founder and Artistic Director of Young DFW Writers and also serves as a Collegiate Academy Professor at Collin College. In January 2015, he published his memoir, Starve the Vulture with Akashic/Kaylie Jones Books.
