Ron Wasserstein is the Executive Director of the American Statistical Association (ASA), a role he has held since August 2007. As an academician, he served as Mathematics and Statistics department faculty for over two decades at Washburn University, Topeka, Kansas, where he later became the Vice President for Academic Affairs. Wasserstein holds a doctorate in Statistics and a Master's in Science in Statistics from Kansas State University and a Bachelor's in Mathematics from Washburn University.

Wasserstein is a Fellow of the ASA and the American Association for the Advancement of Science, having been associated with the ASA since 1983. He served as two-term President for the Kansas-Western Missouri Chapter of the ASA, has chaired two ASA sections, and was a member of the ASA Board of Directors from 2001 to 2003. Wasserstein chaired the Council of Chapters Governing Board in 2006 and has won several awards, including the Manning Distinguished Service Award from the North American Association of Summer Schools, the John Ritchie Alumni Award, and the Muriel Clarke Student Life Award from Washburn University.

At ASA, Ron Wasserstein oversees a staff of 35 and is responsible for ensuring the ASA achieves its mission of promoting the practice and profession of statistics. Wasserstein is passionate about education, statistical consulting, and statistical literacy, and has made valuable contributions to these fields in his career. He is an excellent communicator and a recognized ASA spokesperson.
