Andy Toebben is a seasoned business lawyer with a wealth of experience in providing legal support to entrepreneurs, high-tech startups, venture capitalists, and angel investors. He is a partner at VLP Law Group LLP and also serves on the firm's Executive Committee. Andy has a particular focus on the formation, financing, and execution of startup companies in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, and the broader emerging growth company marketplace. He has represented over 100 emerging tech-based businesses and closed hundreds of company and investor-side transactions.

Andy began his legal career at the Silicon Valley office of Gunderson Dettmer LLP after graduating with a law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. He also holds bachelor's degrees in economics and sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he graduated with highest honors and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. During his junior year, Andy played basketball on Cambridge University's varsity basketball team while studying economics in England.

Before law school, Andy served as an Urban Fellow for Mayor Rudolph Giuliani in New York City and a Leland Fellow for the Congressional Hunger Center in Washington DC. In the fall of 2008, he took a leave of absence to serve on Barack Obama's presidential campaign as the Deputy Director of Voter Protection, where he led the President's legal efforts to protect the vote in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Andy's expertise in business law covers the entire corporate life-cycle, from formation to exit, including pre-incorporation business advice, general corporate counseling to achieve business objectives and solve business problems, financings, tech transactions, mergers and acquisitions. He also represents the nation's leading venture capital and angel investors in their debt and equity investments. Andy is an avid college basketball fan and a Jayhawk for life.
