George Varvarelis is a highly accomplished embedded systems engineer and AI enthusiast with a Ph.D. in Online Data Processing/Computer Vision from the University of Thessaly. With a life goal of utilizing technology to augment the capacity of arable land and help feed the growing world, he has an impressive educational background in Electrical and Computer Engineering, earning both a Bachelor's degree and a Diploma in Electrical Engineering (MSc equivalent) with a specialization in Embedded Systems.

George has worked as an Electrical Engineer at METKA S.A. and as a Senior Engineer at DigiPulse Internet Services, providing him with a robust and diverse professional experience rooted in various technical roles. As the Founder-CEO of Augmenta, he is making a significant impact in the world of technology, leading research into the use of computer vision and AI to empower farmers to increase yields and reduce costs.

In addition to his professional achievements, George is a former farmer, having worked at his family's corn farm, giving him an exceptional perspective on the challenges facing agriculture today. He is also a former International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) participant and a graduate of the StartMIT course on entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial studies from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
