Emma O Chapman is an accomplished astrophysicist and science communicator. She completed her MPhys in Theoretical Physics from Durham University, followed by a PhD in Astrophysics from UCL. Emma is a Royal Society Research Fellow at Imperial College London, and she was a former Royal Astronomical Society Research Fellow at Royal Astronomical Society. She has contributed to significant research in the field of Epoch of Reionisation and is primarily working on the European telescope LOFAR, aiming to make the first detection of the Epoch of Reionisation. She has authored a popular science book named 'First Light: Switching on Stars at the Dawn of Time.' Alongside her research work, Emma is a passionate activist to ensure a safe and healthy work environment in academia. She speaks frequently about harassment and bullying in physics and supports The 1752 Group, a research organization committed to ending staff sexual misconduct. Emma is a prominent science communicator and regularly features in outreach events, including Cheltenham Science Festival, the EuroScience Open Forum, and New Scientist Live.
