Janet Hughes is a seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience in adult education, program development, literacy, and volunteer management. After obtaining her BA in Government and History from Harvard University and her MA in International Education and Training from American University, Janet worked in various roles within different organizations in the Washington, D.C. area. From managing volunteer services at Make A Wish Mid-Atlantic to being a Formerly Program Coordinator at Literacy Volunteers & Advocates, Janet has demonstrated exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling her to train, develop, and mentor countless dedicated volunteers. Her devotion, innovation, and leadership in team-based environments have contributed to the success of the different organizations she has served. She has also volunteered at the Peace Corps and shared her expertise as a volunteer consultant at The Mind and Life Institute. Currently, Janet is a Senior Trainer at Goodwill of Greater Washington, where she continues to make a difference by empowering others in their education and development.
