Alfred Lui

Alfred Lui is a seasoned leader in UX and service design, with a focus on wearables and smart home solutions. He started his career at Motorola, where he specialized in mobile music UX design for popular phones. Later, he worked as a Design Lead and Director at Fjord, leading teams of talented designers in the US and UK to develop cutting-edge digital services for wearables, phones, and smart home devices. Alfred has spent the last eight years in the IoT industry, leading UX design, visual design, and user research at Jawbone, Imbue, SmartThings, and Amazon. He has a talent for building lean teams and delivering fast-paced projects that exceed clients' expectations.

Alfred is a multi-disciplinary designer who works with product, hardware/firmware, and software engineering teams to develop consumer solutions that are simple and scalable. He uses a combination of design thinking and user research to create solutions that improve customers' lives with ease. Alfred has a proven track record of influencing product strategy and design direction, and his leadership skills are evident in the teams he has built over the years. When he's not working, Alfred spends his time sketching, playing with Blender, and tinkering with his 3D printer to fix his kids' toys.
