Cloud Infrastructure Operations Engineer at iland Cloud

- Provide complete ownership and accountability of all responsibilities assigned regarding iland's Cloud Compute Systems•Providing training and mentoring around VMware, Zerto, Veeam, Trendmicro, object storage & other integrated or related systems•Assisting with deployment, configuration, mgmt of cluster compute capacity, upgrading, & patching of iland infrastructure of over 1000+ ESXi hosts in 12 global Data Centers•Assisting with deployment & troubleshooting of issues on ESXi, vCD cells , ZVR, & VCC B+R•Assisting with the mgmt and deployment of iland's core infrastructure; Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS), Win 2008/2012, Win 2016, and vCenter 6.0, 6.5 & 6.7•Performing and managing both local and remote infrastructure installation projects, which includes developing POAs & guiding Data Center remote hands.•Monitoring, troubleshooting and perform repairs for Nimble Arrays, EqualLogic & Compellent storage arrays as well as performing regular firmware upgrades.•Performing health & quality checks on deployed infrastructure stack including VMs, ESXi hosts, PDUs, Storage arrays, LUNs as well as objects in vCenter like clusters, networking and rules.•Managing and maintaining iland’s nightly backups & restores of more than 50,000 VMs using Veeam for both IaaS production & management pods as well as Veeam SP & VCC components hosting thousands of customers cloud tenants for both VCC B+R environments •Maintaining & troubleshooting issues related to Zerto i.e. failovers/tests for more than 20,000 VMs•Troubleshooting & creating cases with vendors to correct H/W & S/W bug issues encountered.•Travelling to iland’s EMEA based Data Centers and assist with infrastructure install & decoms•Acting as iland’s escalation point for customer problems including participation in the on-call rotation •Assisting with approving Infrastructure capacity requests for PMs, CS engineers & support engineering teams•Provide overflow capacity for Cloud Service deployment engineering functions
