Anthony Brower

Anthony Brower is an accomplished architect and sustainable design expert, dedicated to addressing the challenges of a rapidly-changing climate. With degrees in both Bachelor’s and Master’s of Architecture from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Anthony brings a wealth of knowledge to his role as Senior Associate and SW Region Director of Sustainable Design at Gensler, one of the largest architecture and design firms in the world.

Anthony's research has uncovered transformational patterns in the built environment, leading to new design approaches that are responsive and responsible. His Energy Space Planning concept - which challenged traditional standards for lighting spaces - has revolutionized workplace layout, creating conceptual design drivers that reduce lighting demand by design. Scaling up this approach to whole building energy consumption, he has identified patterns across multiple building typologies, resulting in a greater understanding of the impact of our work on the environment.

Anthony's voice is sought after and he has contributed his unique perspective on sustainable design to more than fifty speaking engagements at local and national conferences, such as the AIA Los Angeles 2dC Symposium, and has published over thirty works in periodicals such as Metropolis Magazine and Building Design & Construction Magazine.

As a mentor and educator, Anthony is passionate about sharing his vision of ethical and responsible architecture with a diverse audience, guiding others to integrate sustainable design into their work. He sees design as an opportunity to solve more than just one problem, using his work to create new frameworks that lead others toward a more sustainable future.
