Sumeet Kumar
Sumeet Kumar is an accomplished mechanical engineer with a Ph.D. from Purdue University and a Master's degree from the Indian Institute of Technology at Kharagpur. Throughout his career, he has developed expertise in conceptualizing and designing thermal systems, numerical modeling, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) of energy systems. He has experience working with open-source CFD packages such as OpenFOAM, as well as ANSYS Workbench, Gambit, Fluent, and ICEM CFD. Sumeet has also undertaken projects involving waste heat harvesting, thermoelectric generators, and programming in languages such as MATLAB, C++, FORTRAN, and Python.
Sumeet's academic and industry experience has enabled him to use his skills to their fullest. At Tridiagonal Solutions, he honed his skills as a CFD engineer and project leader. At Schlumberger OilField Services Ltd., he worked as a manufacturing engineer, while his time as a summer intern at CERN and ANSYS, Inc. helped to augment his experience.
Currently, Sumeet is a Mechanical Design Engineer at KLA-Tencor Corporation. He has also been a peer reviewer for the Journal of Electronic Materials, Applied Energy, and other publications. Sumeet is proficient in Linux scripting and has experience using various software such as OpenGL, LabVIEW, and Solidworks. He has even taken personal interest in programming projects which have taken advantage of his mathematical expertise.
