Marc Kuchner

Marc Kuchner is an accomplished astrophysicist, theorist, and observer known for his research on debris disks, extrasolar planets, planet formation, white dwarfs, interferometry, and coronagraphy.

He is the inventor of 'band-limited masks' for high-contrast imaging of exoplanets and has been involved in various NASA Science Teams including EPOXI, New Worlds Discoverer, SPIRIT, SPECS, FKSI, Eclipse, and TPF-C Science & Technology Definition Team.

Marc is a member of prominent scientific organizations such as the American Astronomical Society (AAS), Division for Planetary Sciences (DDA), and a prolific songwriter in the genres of country, pop, and rock.

With over 20 cuts by independent artists, he has received accolades including the Best Demo of 2008 by Music Connection Magazine and been a finalist in prestigious songwriting contests like the Billboard Songwriting Contest, John Lennon Songwriting Contest, and the Great American Songwriting Contest.

Educationally, Marc studied Physics at Harvard University, Astronomy with a minor in Physics at Caltech, Music Composition at The Juilliard School, and High School at Ward Melville High School.

He has held various roles in organizations like NASA's Science Mission Directorate, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, University of Maryland, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and has been associated with esteemed institutions like the Space Telescope Science Institute, Princeton University, and Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.
