Chidera Anugwom is a public health professional with expertise in spatial epidemiology and health communication. She holds a Master of Public Health degree from Boston University School of Public Health and a Bachelor's degree in Geography and Regional Studies from the University of Miami where she specialized in Health/Medical Geography. During her undergraduate studies, Chidera earned a certificate in Geospatial Technology, signifying she possesses advanced skills in geographic information systems (GIS). Her drive to advance her GIS skills further led her to take classes related to graphic design, infographics, web design, and data visualization, allowing her to customize her spatial data outputs to fit various publications while tailoring them to various mediums and audiences.

Besides her academic achievements, Chidera has worked for various organizations holding different roles. She served as a Community Health Specialist at Peace Corps, a Graduate Assistant at Boston University Fitness and Wellness Center, a Sales Associate at Victoria's Secret, a Graduate Resident Assistant at Boston University, and a Nanny at Camp Akeela. Chidera has also worked as a Resident Assistant and an Academic Fellow at the University of Miami while serving as a GIS Consultant at the University of Miami Richter Library.

Born and raised in Texas, Chidera is passionate about the relationship between the media and public health, two disciplines that are intricately connected. As a broadcast journalist, she learned how to condense broad information into a single, core message. Chidera believes that successfully executing the battle to find the one timely message from the right source in the right place disseminated on the right platform requires knowledge of both public health and media.
