Managed a team that ensured the smooth and integrated operations of airport lands and terminals. Responsibilities included: overseeing diverse daily activities including construction projects, maintenance projects and special events; assisting in the immediate resolution of urgent concerns for tenants and customers for the airport; supervision of Airport Operations staffing and responding to media inquiries in the absence of a designated site spokesperson. Assumed the critical role as the Director in the Emergency Operations Centre managing situations and response to incidents. Required the ability to exercise sound judgement in formulating quick decisions; a leadership style that combined customer service excellence with a proactive approach to management of daily activities and excellent communications.

Superintendent/Manager Airport Operations

A one year term project in which I reviewed and republished the airports emergency management plan. Included a review and publicaiton of a training plan for airport operations staff. Ongoing with relations with adjacent fire, ambulance and police departments.

Supervisor Operations and Emergency Planning Training

Worked as the main point of contact for senior level managers of airline and government agencies.

Airport Client Representative

Acted as the initial contact for a variety of agencies such as BC Ambulance, Richmond Fire Rescue, and RCMP as well as providing customer service to airport tenants and the general public. Communication is key in this role ensuring all incidents are dealt with in a timely manner and appropriate personnel or agencies are dispatched via the 24 channel VHF and UHF radio and Centrex phone system. The position monitored critical systems including the Fire Alarm and General Alarm systems and acted as the scribe during situations that require the Emergency Operations Centre activated.
