He has a deep understanding of Making Markets Work for the Poor (M4P) and value chain approaches, focusing on fostering inclusive market system growth through SME development, market system development for smallholder farmers and their groups, and promoting business services.

Hem excels in conducting and supervising market assessments/studies in agricultural value chains, designing project interventions based on market-based relationships, and influencing change by building strong relationships at senior levels across various sectors.
