Sherrie Hayashi is an accomplished senior executive with over 22 years of experience in the regulatory environment of the state of Utah. Holding cabinet and executive-level appointments in the public sector, she has a broad view of the purposes of public service. She has an educational background in law and extensive administrative experience in enforcing civil rights, housing discrimination, labor and wage, occupational safety and health, workers compensation, boiler, elevator, and coal mine safety laws.

With her expertise in public service, she astutely navigates complex high-level policy issues, driving a culture of integrity and fairness within the organization, ensuring that results are achieved through collaboration. As a senior executive, she implements new programs, increases efficiency through process improvement, and drives legislative and organizational changes.

Sherrie holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Utah College of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Government from the same university. She is the Director of the Office of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action at the University of Utah, and has previously held positions like Commissioner, Director of Antidiscrimination & Labor Division, Associate General Counsel, and Executive Director at organizations like the Utah Labor Commission and the Multicultural Legal Center.
