- Brought in to work on two different projects in HTML5, CSS3, <a href="http://ASP.NET">ASP.NET</a> RAZOR, SCSS, Typescript/JavaScript.- The first project was to manage and oversee deployment of a project that was completed by another developer. It also involved solving a few bugs, demoing, and writing up documentation on the project.- The second project was to be a hands on lead where our team is required to rebuild a Brand Listing page of all clothing brands following a new design with new functionality. I refactored away as much as possible from jQuery, and migrated into Typescript. I also removed a lot of technical debt via renaming files to be named more semantically, as well as deleting a lot of old/unused code.- During my time at Next, I was also responsible for bug fixing and refactoring legacy code base in <a href="http://ASP.NET">ASP.NET</a> Razor & TypeScript/JavaScript, introducing/consulting on Agile development practices and best ways to run/manage sprints. I kicked off the migration to Agile away from a Gantt Chart, setting us on 2 week sprints, with retros on the same day as sprint planning.

- Front End Development using Angular 8, with NgRx (Redux for Angular) for state management.- Custom built the front end of an enterprise level web application from scratch which had a micro-service based architecture on the backend with zero assistance due to being the only front end developer for an extended period of time.- Converting Adobe XD / Invision design specifications to real scalable UI Components in HTML5, CSS3, ES6 JavaScript/Typescript, Angular 8, RxJs and NgRx (Redux).- Solutionised technical requirements in conjunction with backend team to provide T-Shirt size estimates of potential project completion dates.- In instances where UX requirements were identified as being missing, or a broken user journey was discovered, I was responsible for designing and then building the desired UX Journey to ensure the customers of the business would have a smooth experience when using the application.- Trained multiple other front end developers in Angular and State Management- Actively participated in code reviews

- Bespoke WordPress Theme Development using a combination of Semantic HTML5, CSS3, ES6 JavaScript, PHP and ACF (advanced custom fields). 100% Responsible for the build of <a href="https://www.newyorkhiltonmidtown.com/.-">https://www.newyorkhiltonmidtown.com/.-</a> After having been identified as having a passion for Agile development methodologies as well as a strong interest in ensuring the development process/tools are as streamlined/as useful as possible, I was engaged in conversations with my hiring manager and the development team as a whole, to explain why Agile would be a more suitable methodology for development in this instance vs Waterfall.- Enjoyed working in collaboration with other developers as well as suggesting features/tools to use whilst in a brainstorming chat scenario.- Have identified and suggested rebuilds of low performing pages where poor/outdated UX Design trends are being used. For example, have strongly suggested removing carousels from a few landing pages, as studies suggest circa 1% of clicks are on carousels, with 90% of those 1% being on the first slide. I proceeded to follow up with a pen and paper wireframe and handed it to my hiring manager, who thanked and passed it on to the design team, and ultimately the clients for consideration.- Self taught/understood the use of Gulp, and added Babel to enable ES6 Javascript usage within older browsers such as IE 11.- Took a slight interested in YML files to be used for CI/CD via Gitlab, and attempting to understand how this works, however this is exclusively managed by our System Admin team.

At Hyped Marketing, I was responsible for mainly building WordPress sites using page builder themes such as Divi, Avada, and Visual Composer to provide a cost-effective solution for a wide array of clients. I occasionally dabbled with creating the design of the website from scratch as well in terms of layout and functionality.Whilst at Hyped Marketing, I was sent to the Chartered Institute of Marketing for Advanced SEO Training, and then became the most technically advanced SEO member of staff. I was responsible for Keyword Research/Analysis, Backlink monitoring, Content suggestions, and much more.My day mainly consisted of:- Building bespoke page builder websites using Divi, Avada or Visual Composer, based off of a design provided by our internal graphic designer, or designing and building the wire framed layout myself.- Creating new pages/functionality across existing client websites as required, as well as quoting the client for this work.- Training existing clients on how to use their new website moving forward, and answering any questions they may have.- Making minor PHP amendments inside core theme files via a child theme to optimise for SEO or additional desired functionality, accessed via SFTP (FileZilla and Cyberduck were my favourite).- Creating bespoke layouts from exisiting HTML markup with the use of CSS.- Deploying SCSS Compiling on a few larger websites, using PrePros as a compiler, which syncs automatically up to my SFTP connection for instant update.- Managing & Monitoring 20-30 websites, ensuring they remain live, up to date, and error free.- Constantly supporting the entire team with ongoing suggestions for increased revenue and marketing ideas.
