Darryn Harris is a dedicated professional committed to social and economic justice, influenced by his parents' belief in the value of youth. His career showcases a strong passion for serving the community and advocating for positive change.

Inspired by the 1992 Civil Unrest in Los Angeles, Darryn's interest in social justice was nurtured during his academic journey at Loyola Marymount University and UCLA.

Currently serving as the Acting Chief of Staff and District Director for Congresswoman Karen Bass, Darryn plays a pivotal role in evaluating legislative proposals, managing office operations, and overseeing staff while fostering relationships with various governmental entities.

His work involves coordinating events that contribute to data collection for crucial reports impacting legislation in areas such as economic empowerment, education, housing, crime, and health, aimed at supporting the most vulnerable members of society.

Darryn's dedication to public service follows in the footsteps of esteemed figures like A. Phillip Randolph, Martin Luther King Jr., James Baldwin, and Bayard Rustin. He actively engages with organizations like Alpha Phi Alpha, People for the American Way, and New Leaders Council.

A proud native of Los Angeles, Darryn enjoys spending quality time with loved ones, hiking, and appreciating live music during weekends.

His educational background includes a Master's degree in Higher Education & Organizational Change from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Loyola Marymount University.
