Marisa Lester is an accomplished Assistant Program Director with a vast experience in higher education. With a strong educational background with a Master of Science (MS) from the University of Arizona in Agricultural Education, where she was awarded the 4.0 distinction, and a Certificate in College Teaching, Lester has proven her ability to excel academically. Her love for agriculture started at Yavapai college, where she pursued an Associate of Applied Science in Agricultural Technology Management, and later studied Agricultural Technology Management and Education at the University of Arizona, graduating with a Bachelor of Science (BS).
Lester's career has seen her work with the University of Arizona in different capacities, including as a Senior Academic Advisor II, where she was responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating the delivery of high-quality academic advising services, ensuring a holistic student experience. She later served as an Academic Advisor, where she designed, conducted, and evaluated programs and interventions to support students academically, socially, and personally. Currently, she is an Assistant Program Director of the Undergraduate Biology Research Program, where she has contributed to the development of a responsive, student-focused team committed to providing exceptional mentorship, research opportunities, and professional development for undergraduate students.
