Mechanical Design Engineer at Delta Air Lines

-Working in the additive manufacturing lab to reverse engineer and design new and modify existing parts.
-Printing with Stratasys and Essentium 3D printers as well as desktop grade 3D Printers.
-Printing with Metal EOS 3D Printers as well as EOS polymer powder printers.
-3D Scanning with Creaform Handyscan as well as Faroarm to reverse engineer parts as well as design new components around existing components.
-Use CAD to design new aircraft parts and seating.
-Perform FEA (Finite Element Analysis) to validate part performance and loads on designed parts.

Mechanical Engineer III

- Create designs of mechanical systems as related to the reconfiguration of the interior of aircrafts.
- Work closely with substantiation team to ensure that designs conform to FAA regulations and stress requirements.
- Survey aircrafts to get an accurate database of the most recent configurations.
- Provide manufacturing support for the development of new parts based on approved designs.
-Worked with certification group on the incorporation of Service Bulletins and AD’s.
-Worked to design seats and modification to seats for the purposes of structural analysis and manufacturing.

Mechanical Design Engineer

-Develop punches based on customer supplied drawings and/or parts to press shells to enclose insulation material.
-Use Catia for the design and development of all punches and splash dies. All punches are machined in-house, with a splash created from the punch half using fiberglass.
-Provide shop-floor support with the development of new product lines and redesign of current punches and dies. Expected to visit the shop floor to clear up and job delays.
-Perform a walkthrough of punch and die press test to ensure no tears in the metal foil.
-All punches are designed to be machined from a 3-axis CNC mill.
-Helped to implement 3D printing with respect to shop fixtures.
-Introduced 3D printing as a replacement for machined vacuum formed tooling.

Tighitco Aerospace

-Resident Mechanical Engineer on Air Traffic Control Tower Construction.
-Charged with resolving conflicts of interest between airport owners, local FAA personnel, and other regional FAA organizations while balancing scope, schedule, and costs.
-Worked with Civil and Electrical Engineers to ensure all systems function together properly.
-Managed the installation of all HVAC equipment. Worked with the mechanical sub contractors to ensure all components such as triple duty valves, balancing valves, VAV's and other components critical to the HVAV system were properly installed.
-Oversaw all testing of equipment such as chiller start-up, chilled water pump balance, pipe leak tests, and all other procedures required to ensure proper TAB of the HVAC system.
-Used Microstation to make modifications to design of the mechanical system of the ATCT when conflicts arose.
-Redesigned the sanitary system of the utility access level of the tower (plumbing shaft) to better utilize the space and allow for easier maintenance in the future.

Mechanical Engineer

-Developed ways to perform experimental testing on new intuitive interfaces which help an operator drive a crane.
-Charged with performing experiments comparing new intuitive interfaces with standard push-button pendent.
-Created Matlab code that helped to process the data collected from experiments.
-Helped in the development of new interfaces by participating in meetings with sponsors and coming up with design ideas.

Undergraduate Research Hand-Motion Crane Control Team Leader

-Managed a group of seniors at Georgia Tech charged with designing a torque measuring screw driver for a leading medical company. This device was to be used in spinal surgery to install screws which connected rods to the spinal column, effectively fusing areas of the spine.
-Organized team meetings and communication with the sponsor medical company to ensure an effective product was designed.
-Ensured each team member worked on projects that best matched their strengths, while keeping everyone on the same page to promote a team first mentality.
-Did market research with leading spinal surgeons to get inputs on the current products on the market, their opinions on our device ideas, and desired features for consideration in the final design of the product.
-Used Autodesk Inventor to design various components of the torque measuring screw driver.
-Performed Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to ensure the tube with strain gauges would record a proper torque measurement when the screw driver was used.
-Built a prototype model of the screw driver for initial testing and entrance into the capstone competition. 
-A full bridge strain gauge setup was attached to an aluminum tube and wired up to a Bluetooth transmitter. Data was sent to recording device (such as ipad, iphone, or pc) which was then compiled into a torque vs time chart.
