Raphael Auphan is a high-tech executive and entrepreneur with a passion for innovative and fast-growing ventures that seamlessly blend technology and design-thinking in an international environment. He co-founded Cosmian, a deep tech start-up that focuses on data security and privacy, after serving as the CEO of Scilab Enterprises, which was later acquired by ESI Group. Raphael has a proven track record of building and launching successful products such as Withings Aura, the award-winning sleep tracking and improvement product, and NightCove, a line of connected products for sleep and wellness in hotels, homes, spas, and offices.
Raphael's career began in Asia-Pacific, where he spearheaded a critical project for Singapore's subway system. He then worked for Gemplus (now Gemalto), a global leader in smart/SIM card technology, where he established and managed the Malaysian subsidiary. Raphael moved to the US to join ViaFone, a start-up backed by $35M in funding, as VP of North American Operations, and eventually became VP, Europe and Middle-East following the company's acquisition by Extended Systems (later acquired by SAP). Raphael also served as a strategic advisor to BlueLine Partners and on the board of Sparus Software, which was acquired by Zenprise in 2010 and Citrix in 2012.
Raphael earned a Master's Degree in Computer Science and Networks from CentraleSupelec.
