Emona Capital LLP is a London based investment and advisory firm.

Our primary areas of investment focus are special situation and disruptive technology investments, both in private and public markets. We back management teams in early stage, growth and mature companies. Our co-investors are predominantly family offices and hedge funds who share with us our long-term view on value creation.

In select cases, we also take on advisory mandates to assist other principals in complex restructurings, turnarounds, financings and other corporate events. We are results-driven and look to align our interests closely with those of our clients.

START-UPS: FINANCING
- Created the business plan and pricing policies for a newly funded bilingual nursery and pre-school, first in Slovenia; provided initial financing; followed growth from 4 kids to 50 within 4 years.
- Secured financing for a new dedicated building by tapping both private and banking sources. The new building was successfully opened after only 9 months from the very start of the project.

EXECUTION & DELIVERY: REPORTING
- Designed and implemented business and operational reporting at a regional IT company within 6 months (60mio EUR turnover, 5 countries, three-dimensional organisational matrix). 
- Responsible for upgrading the back office and transferring the methodologies to SRC Group level (5 companies, 470 employees); responsibilities included finance, accounting, controlling, human resource management and internal IT.
- Redefined Business Intelligence measures and group level Planning processes.

STRATEGY: ORGANISATION
- Redefined the organisational structures and methodology for SRC Group international operations to ensure better know-how transfer, faster reaction times to possible market and company changes and optimises resource usage; the new methodology; 2 of 3 loss-making operations became profitable within 1 year; international ops are a cornerstone of SRC plan to grow extensively over the next years
- Selected new company directors and local operations managers in most international operations.

STRATEGY: TURNAROUND
- Setup and implemented a turnaround programme for the ERP Business (30 people in 3 countries).

EXECUTION & DELIVERY: PRODUCTION PLANNING
Redesigned the complete production planning process, incl. redefining and implemented the IT supporting systems, in two factories of a large multinational machine building company with the goal to improve operational performance by 30-100% in key parameters – from start to fully functional within 6 months targets achieved within 12-24 months.

DIGITALISATION: OPERATIONAL MODEL
Designed a streamlined operational model fully supported with a small number highly focused IT tools to ensure highly efficient operations with the required focus on patient satisfaction in a global medical service business (turnover 400m EUR); work included process, application and IT technical architecture design.

STRATEGY: ORGANIZATION
Redesigned large back office service (IT) with over 7000 employees for a leading global engineering conglomerate with the primary goal to achieve higher effectiveness in digitalisation efforts while also achieving greater efficiency of operations.

Devised the business strategy for the Sekvenca Medical division that develops 3D surgery simulation and planning tools; awarded “Best Entrepreneurial Idea of 2006” in Slovenia in the category of small innovative companies based on the business plan; reached the final of the European Venture Contest 2006 as the only company from the Central & Eastern Europe area.

START-UPS: FINANCING:
Worked with CEO and owner to redefine business strategy of the start-up company and obtained seed round financing.

Redesigned cost & profitability accounting logics, designed the IT system and supervised the implementation – for several manufacturing companies across Europe (steel makers, metal processing companies, automotive from 50mio to 1,5bn EUR turnover, typically from kick-off to functional within 3-12 months).

EXECUTION & DELIVERY: CRISIS MANAGEMENT
Successfully acted as crisis project manager on clients’ projects – both end-customer and internal (6-12 months duration, 80+% success rate).

DIGITALISATION: BUSINESS MODEL
Identified a new service opportunity leveraging existing products and infrastructure enriched through the use of “digital” possibilities to offer an advanced service to the customers and increase customer share of wallet in the fast growing medical area. Designed to complete solution for implementation, including IT infrastructure and application landscape.

STRATEGY: RESTRUCTURING
Devised restructuring of a construction company, including redefinition of market positioning and offering, project and post-sales operations and complete reporting structures with result-based reward systems; achieved sales and profit growth of 50% within the first 12 months.

STRATEGY: BUSINESS MODELS
- Conducted complete investment evaluation and business due-diligence processes for a major local private equity company and private investors for their potential investments in the region.
- Devised a portfolio optimisation strategy for a multinational food processing company; the strategy was implemented entirely and the company successfully sold to a strategic investor within 4 years.
- Built a business model for a global multi-site manufacturing company (total turnover 300 mio EUR) with an evaluation of the proposed complex restructuring with multiple measures.
