Greg Mauro is an accomplished entrepreneur, venture capitalist, and education advocate. He is the founder and managing partner of Learn Capital, which has the world's largest education technology investment portfolio. Greg is also the chairman of Summit Institute, a non-profit organization focused on innovation, creativity, and impact, and co-owner of Powder Mountain, the largest ski resort in the United States.

Greg started his career as a strategy consultant for Michael Porter's Monitor Group. He was on the founding team of several startups that have touched the lives of millions, raising over $350 million collectively. His passion for education began with the charter school movement in 2000, serving eight years on the High Tech High foundation board, and co-founding a US Treasury New Markets fund to expand high-performing charter facilities.

In 2008, Greg co-founded Edmodo, a widely-used education technology platform that serves over 100 million students. In 2013, he engineered the crowd-sourced purchase of Powder Mountain, convincing the founders of Summit Series to joint venture and save the mountain from corporate overdevelopment. Summit at Powder Mountain will become a town the size of Telluride, focusing on creativity and innovation with The Summit Institute.

Greg's background also includes managing an affiliate fund of The Founders Fund and serving on the board of several companies, including Bridge International Academies, Nextivity, Inc., Quantcast, and SmartDrive Systems.

Away from work, Greg's expeditions, surfing on six continents, visiting over 100 countries, and buying his local ski mountain, have been featured in The New York Times, Financial Times, The Atlantic, Surfer Magazine, and Ski Magazine. He is a graduate of UCLA College of Honors, the American School in Switzerland, and UCLA Anderson School of Management.
