Anne Sorensen
Dr. Anne Sorensen is an accomplished marketing strategist with a career spanning over three decades in leading retail, tourism, and non-profit organizations across Australia and overseas. She is the founder and director of Marketing Is Us, a strategic business and marketing advisory that empowers organizations to facilitate customer, organizational, and societal value.
Anne is an expert in marketing and management and has served as a sessional educator in various Australian universities. She has authored several peer-reviewed academic publications, including The Journal of Service Theory and Practice and The Service Industries Journal. Anne has also designed a range of university e-learning materials to augment student value and engagement.
Anne's PhD thesis examines how value is both created and destroyed in the social media communities of non-profit organizations. She holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Business in Marketing, with distinction. Anne's extensive industry experience informs her practical focus on value creation and her innovative and integrated business/marketing strategies.
She is an Australian Postgraduate Award recipient, a Certified Practising Marketer, and an Associate Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute. Anne has also served as an Academic Reviewer, ANZMAC (2014, 2017), and on various non-profit committees, including the Marketing Advisory Committees for the Cancer Council (Vic) (Daffodil Day; Think Pink), Melbourne City Mission, and as a Director, Zonta (Brisbane).
Besides her professional life, Anne loves to stay active and pursue her passion for art, particularly painting in watercolor and drawing.
