Charu Srinivasan is a highly accomplished Partner Director of Engineering at the Microsoft India Development Center, with close to three decades of experience in the technology industry. With a strong foundation in computer science and engineering, Charu has played a pivotal role in the innovations of database replication, server virtualization, data protection, disaster recovery, migration, modernization, and hybrid management. Currently leading the Azure Compute engineering organization at Microsoft IDC, Charu is responsible for exploring new technology directions, developing effective engineering processes, recruiting and mentoring great talent, and articulating a long-term technical vision.

Charu is also a staunch advocate of creating a culture of inclusion at Microsoft, and her efforts have led to attracting, retaining, and growing diverse talent. Her belief in the importance of leadership excellence has been a core driver for organizational effectiveness.

Charu's recent accomplishment includes pioneering and delivering Microsoft's Disaster Recovery offering on Azure, which was recognized as a leader in the Disaster Recovery As a Service magic quadrant by Gartner. Charu is also a board member of the Confederation of Indian Industry's National Committee on Technology and helped create the founding vision for CII's Centre of Excellence on Digital Transformation.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Charu is equally invested in social causes. She recently joined Social Venture Partners (SVP), Hyderabad chapter as Partner, an organization that provides investment funding and advice to non-profit organizations to increase their social and environmental impact.

Charu's academic achievements are equally impressive. She holds an M.S degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she was the recipient of the prestigious University of California Regent's Fellowship. She graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Engineering from the College of Engineering, Guindy (Anna University).
