Qi Luo is a robotics systems expert with an extensive educational and professional background. She completed her undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and continued her education at Purdue University, where she earned a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering. Throughout her career, Qi has worked at several well-known companies and currently holds the position of Staff Software Architect and Tech Lead Manager at Baidu USA.

Qi's expertise lies in trajectory optimization, collision avoidance, model-based control, signal processing algorithms, embedded systems, and mechatronics system design. She is highly experienced in algorithms design, including model predictive control, robust control, multi-input-multi-output control, Kalman filter, Interacting-Multiple-Model filter, sensor fusion/fault diagnosis algorithms, statistical data association, sequential test, and Neural Network. Qi's skills also include programming in C/C++, Matlab, Simulink, LabVIEW, Linux, Python, and INCA, control modules such as MSP ARM and Ni CRio, and Real Time Operation Systems. Her proficiency in CAD design software including CATIA, UnigraphicsNX, and SolidWorks helps her create complex designs.

Qi has an active history of working with several companies before joining Baidu, including Rockwell Automation and GM, where she served as a Senior Control Firmware Engineer and Technical Expert, Control & Algorithm Design, respectively. She also co-founded Joy Sunpower and worked as an intern at the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce and the Shanghai General Motors Chassis and Suspension Department.
