A lot of the user-interface code was re-factored to make proper use of CSS whilst maintaining browser compatibility (including IE6).I developed a Windows Forms tool to allow publishing of online documentation, both in HTML, PDF & Zip Formats (using XSLT and XSL-FO), to the IGT web application.I have worked on all tiers of the system, from SQL Server Stored Procedure development through to the business layer and finally the <a href="http://ASP.NET">ASP.NET</a> front-end. I introduced jQuery to the technology pool to help improve the user experience and reduce any JavaScript complexity and improve browser compatibility. jQuery AJAX has also been used in parallel with existing <a href="http://ASP.NET">ASP.NET</a> Ajax areas to improve performance.One of my remits was to help introduce ‘Agile’ methodologies. C#  .NET 3.5, SQL Server 2005, NUnit, VS 2008I have been in charge of developing test frameworks for large & complex .NET code base. The code-base the client has developed is used to prevent medical patients from being prescribed potentially harmful drug doses which is an inherently complex problem-space. Therefore the test framework has to be robust and provide excellent code coverage. Development is spread across C# 3.5 with some T-SQL.I have spent a fair amount of time refactoring existing code to reduce duplication and improve extensibility and reusability, using various design patterns where deemed appropriate (as well as trying to leverage .net 3.5 feature sets). I have worked closely with in-house medical doctors and pharmacists, the lead Software Architect and various Database Engineers in order to effectively understand the domain context/problem space as well as the technical design aspects of the API & Service layers and the Data Model. Therefore good communication skills have been essential, as well as an excellent understanding of software design principles and practices and a good working knowledge of SQL (as a lot of logic is embedded in stored procedures).I have also been involved in providing advice to other team members, as well as participating in code reviews and technical discussions where appropriate.

The product was a tool to collate property sale date from across the web and provide investors a tool to find deal opportunities. Another part of the system allowed third-parties to upload their own advertising - this could be, for example, a property for sale, a local plumbers services,  a development deal or a land deal. These would then appear in geo-relative locations to the investors search criteria.Project currently on hold; will be looking to re-utilise some of the core software components in a future manifestation of the project.

The front-ends are <a href="http://ASP.NET">ASP.NET</a> 2.0. The middle-tiers are written using a mix of <a href="http://C#.NET">C#.NET</a> 1.1/2.0 and Java. Data is retrieved both from SQL Server 2005 and via SOAP-based web-services to other systems. We use a proprietary object-relational framework appropriately named ‘ORF’. The system is layered using patterns such as Controller, Presenter and Proxy. Mapping classes manage SOAP-model object conversions and vice versa. The Unit Tests were written using NUnit.
