Ashish Thapliyal, a Ph.D. graduate from UC Santa Barbara in Theoretical Physics, possesses strong expertise in Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Distributed Systems, Network Programming, and Software Security. He is also experienced in Multimodal Learning that involves Video, Image, Audio, and Text. Ashish is a proficient programmer with in-depth knowledge of several programming languages including C/C++, Java, Python, Erlang, Ruby, JavaScript, and others. Besides, he is an expert in developing cross platforms across Linux, Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android.
Ashish currently works at Google as a Software Engineer in Machine Learning, applying cutting-edge research and product development for multimodal problems involving video, audio, image, and text. Prior to that, he worked as a Principal Architect in Machine Intelligence at Citrix where he led projects that spanned the organization to implement scalable security systems, designed security protocols, and wrote highly optimized security-critical code for clients and servers used by Citrix collaboration products such as GoToMeeting, GoToWebinar, and GoToTraining.
Ashish holds a Bachelor of Technology in Engineering Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
