Shayena Shah is a driven MD candidate at the prestigious Stanford University School of Medicine, with a background in economics from Swarthmore College. She founded and acted as president of SaniStitch, an impactful social enterprise dedicated to advancing menstrual health for women in rural India, and served as a community development lead at TINA Healthcare, Inc., researching private equity and maternal health in these areas. Shayena also worked as a healthcare innovation consulting intern at Healthy Points, LLC and a research assistant at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. Her impressive organizational skills and dedication to healthcare innovation allowed her to serve as the Quality Improvement Coordinator at Pacific Free Clinic at Stanford School of Medicine. Her interdisciplinary background, bolstered by her experience as a speaker at TEDx, director of student payroll at Swarthmore college and a participant in McKinsey & Company's undergraduate women's summit, give her a unique perspective on addressing complex global health issues.
