João Alves is an experienced Engineering Manager, Speaker, and Writer with a passion for building and growing SaaS Products and Infrastructure teams.

He holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Engineering from Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto.

João has a strong professional background, having worked as an Engineering Manager at Adevinta and previously at FREE NOW (formerly mytaxi). Prior to his managerial roles, he gained valuable experience as a Software Engineer at Schibsted Classified Media, Blueliv, and Cupenya.

His journey in the tech industry started with internships at INESC Technology and Science, where he was an Active Member at AlumniEI-FEUP. João also worked as an API and Mobile Engineer at tymr, a Developer at IPATIMUP, and an Intern at Ancorensis, Cooperativa de Ensino.
