Simon Gemmell is a highly experienced software engineer with a passion for all things tech. As a graduate of The Australian National University's Bachelor of Software Engineering program, Simon has spent the past 16 years developing software in a variety of roles. He spent seven years as the co-founder and CTO of Document Modelling, developing an IDE for drafting contracts and experimenting with documents-as-data spin-offs. Simon has also spent seven years at CEA Technologies as a software engineer building embedded, real-time, and distributed systems for military R&D RADARs.

Simon's technical background covers a wide range of languages and frameworks, including C++, C#, Java, Javascript, Typescript, HTML, CSS, Python, and applied machine learning. His deep understanding of all things tech means he is familiar with most concepts, has heard about most "trending" technologies or languages, has a high level understanding of how they work, and loves learning new things. In addition to his technical expertise, Simon is an affable person with a good sense of humor.

Currently, Simon is the lead software engineer at Instaclustr. Throughout his career, he has gained valuable experience in all aspects of software development, from writing code to building teams, culture, marketing, sales, and support. Simon's extensive experience and tech knowledge make him a valuable asset to any team.
