Shannon Galpin has spent a decade working independently on women's rights projects in Afghanistan, outside of traditional NGO and international aid development structures. Her work ranged from supporting women's heroin rehab clinics and building schools to creating streetart installations and promoting the emerging 'right to ride' movement in the country. Shannon is best known for her work with the first Afghan Women's National Cycling Team, which was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2015. She is also the co-creator of Endangered Activism, which focuses on creative solutions to wildlife conservation through youth activism. Shannon is an author, artist, and keynote speaker who has been featured on various media outlets, including NBC, CNN, and TEDx.
