Steven Moelk
Steven Moelk is a successful entrepreneur and leader in the last mile logistics industry. He currently spearheads IKEA's initiative to electrify home deliveries throughout the US, using an innovative business model to catalyze EV adoption in the commercial space. With vast experience in the field, he holds regular meetings with government officials, logistics companies, and OEMs to shape the future EV environment.
Moelk's journey began in 2001 when he co-founded Urban Express, which later became New York's biggest same-day delivery service. After buying out the principal founder, he became the CEO of UX Specialized Logistics, managing the company through the 2008 financial crisis and expanding it into home delivery and assembly services. During this time, Mr. Moelk tripled the company's size to over $120M in annual revenue, opening over 20 hub locations across the eastern US and Canada. UX landed a big contract to become the largest home delivery provider for IKEA in North America. Later on, he facilitated the sale of UX to XPO Logistics in 2015, where he continued into an SVP position. At XPO, he concentrated on expanding home delivery services to Europe's IKEA division, selling over $20M worth of services in the UK and Holland.
Moelk earned an MBA in Finance from Hofstra University and a BS in Business Administration from Mary Washington College. Presently, he resides in Ridgewood, NJ, with his family.
