I started a home care agency to provide high quality, cost effective, non-medical care for the elderly so that clients can remain in their homes as long as possible.  It is critical to provide the best care in Charlotte and we do that through fostering a family atmosphere where both clients and care providers are truly valued.  In addition, I am able to use my legal background to provide assistance and counseling for our clients and because of my familiarity with the legal market in Charlotte, I can refer my clients to excellent attorneys in the area when necessary.

I focused my practice on commercial and health care litigation as well as some transactional work.  I have won large administratives case before the Office of Medicare Hearings and Appeals regarding Medicare and Medicaid billings and payments for physicians and other providers.  I also have engaged in complex negotiations regarding business transactions and provided the subsequent due diligence and drafting of documents.  Finally, I also engaged in pro bono work assisting the disadvantaged elderly in Charlotte, primarily through representation in landlord-tenant actions.

At Baker & Hostetler, one of the largest 100 law firms in the U.S., I focused my practice on commercial and health care litigation as well as bankruptcy.  Typically our cases involved large companies but my greatest joy came when I was able to litigate cases for individuals or small businesses.  I also did a great deal of pro bono work for the elderly in the Washington, D.C. area focusing on trusts & estates and other matters involving elder law.

I was selected to clerk for the Honorable Raner C. Collins, U.S. District Judge for the District of Arizona.  While clerking for Judge Collins I wrote numerous opinions for him, conducted research for Judge Collins on critical points of law and managed his civil and criminal docket.
