Gabor Forgacs is a leading figure in bioprinting and tissue engineering. After decades of academic work as a theoretical physicist, he turned his attention to the intersection of biology and physics, specifically the role of genetic and physical mechanisms in embryonic development. He co-founded and served as a scientific founder for three companies — Organovo, Modern Meadow, and Fork & Goode — pioneering tissue engineering technology to create animal products without slaughtering animals or damaging the environment. He is currently Chief Scientific Officer at Fork & Goode and has earned various distinguished professor titles at different universities, including University of Missouri-Columbia and Clarskon University.
