Leah Culver is a successful three-time founder, mobile, and web software engineer and an angel investor. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer at Twitter, she is dedicated to developing the Spaces iOS team. With experience in founding several companies like Pownce, Convore Inc which was funded by Y Combinator, and Breaker, the first social network for podcasts, which is now part of Twitter, Leah boasts a wealth of experience as an entrepreneur.
Leah is also an author of OAuth 1.0 and wrote the first open source library (in Python) from the specification. She authored oEmbed, supported by numerous notable websites, and co-created Hurl (hurl.it), an HTTP client for testing web APIs that inspired the Twitter API browser. Leah is an active YC alumni and a sought-after angel investor. She has invested in numerous startups, including GitHub, Sentry, Numeracy, Opsolutely, Fast, and many more.
Leah is passionate about API design, open source, user growth and analytics, programming languages, and database design. Leah has given over 40 technical talks at conferences and is always willing to help founders build amazing startups. In addition to her technical expertise, she also owns and is in the process of renovating the famous Pink Painted Lady, one of the Painted Ladies of Alamo Square.
